Integrative Reflexology

Your reflexology session begins with a soothing and therapeutic hot mineral soak in a hand-hammered copper footbath, with the option to add aromatherapy as well. During the session, gentle pressure is applied to specific reflex points in the feet, thus stimulating the more than 7,200 nerve endings there.

Reflexology is intended to reduce generalized stress and help the body achieve a state of deep relaxation and harmony. Other benefits include improved circulation, immune function, skin tone, and concentration and memory.

Studies funded by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health indicate that reflexology may reduce pain, anxiety, and depression, and enhance relaxation and sleep. Studies also show that reflexology may have benefits in the palliative care of people with cancer.

One more thing – there is no need to undress for a reflexology session, just make sure your pants can be rolled up easily!

Why use a copper footbath?

Copper has actually been used for health purposes for thousands of years, and is still found useful medicinally today, both internally and externally. It is said to improve blood circulation, boost the immune system, increase energy, reduce joint pain from conditions such as arthritis, and assist the body in detoxifying. Copper is also considered to be a mineral that assists in improving mental agility.

On a holistic level, copper has historically been associated as the body metal, and is considered a grounding metal for the human body and spirit. (Silver is the metal of the spirit, and gold is the metal of the mind.)

Beyond the beauty of these bowls, copper has antimicrobial properties, and naturally kills many germs and bacteria.
